Good morning Class 3. Thank you for all your hard work this week and I hope you have a great Easter holiday. Remember tomorrow is still an Inset day!

Maths-

Your Maths warm-up today is to complete Numbers to 1000- compare and order. You need to compare and order the numbers you are given. You can find this in your 2Dos on Purple Mash.

Create a sarcophagus today or over the Easter Holidays-

You can use the Egyptian mummy sheet in the document below to create a sarcophagus or if you have the resources you can have fun and try designing and creating a sarcophagus yourselves. Please feel free to send me pictures of your completed sarcophagus. I would love to see them!!

Good Morning Class 3. Well done for your super work yesterday. You all have amazing ideas for your stories. I cannot wait to read them!

Maths-

For your Maths warm up, there is a Multiplication quiz in your 2Dos on Purple Mask.

In Maths today, you will be matching the fractions shown on a number line to the correct statement in Fractions on a number line 1. Your second task is to place fractions correctly on a number line in Fractions on a number line 2. You can find these tasks in your 2Dos on Purple Mash.

 

English-

In English, you are going to use your plans from yesterday and the ideas you created to write the unhappy ending to Little Red Riding Hood in the task on your 2Dos. You can find your plan by clicking on Work (next to 2Dos). Then, on 'My Work' and 'Done 2Dos'. Here, you should find your Storyboard Plan from yesterday’s work. If you need help finding it, do not hesitate to email me!

Log on to read theory for 30 minutes and read the text and answer the questions. You can use the link below.

Wednesday 25th March

 

Good Morning Class 3! I hope you are all doing well. Well done for all your amazing and hard work yesterday!

 

Maths-

For your Maths warm up today, we are going to focus on our 3, 4 and 8 times table. Match the number sentence cards with the answer cards.

 

In Maths, we are still focusing on fractions. In Fractions on a number line, you must match the correct fractions with the bar model shown on the screen. Your second task is to use the activity Fraction bar to show how fractions can make a whole. You can find these tasks in your 2Dos on Purple Mash.

 

English-

In the Lost Happy Endings, the Happy Endings have been taken by the witch and the children are listening to stories that do not have happy endings.  If you cannot remember this part of the story, then you can listen to me reading the story on Youtube. Just use the link!

We are going to plan an alternate or different ending to the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Imagine this story is one read to the children when the happy endings have been stolen. The ending of Little Red Riding Hood has to be unhappy. Use the Storyboard plan task on Purple Mash in your 2Dos to help you to create ideas.

Handwriting-

Today, use your handwriting books to write out The Wind on the Hill by A.A. Milne in your neatest handwriting.

You could also write a sentence explaining why you like or dislike the poem.

Maths-

 

Use the Times Table Quiz on Purple Mash as a Maths warm-up. You can find it in your 2Dos. 

 

In Maths, we have been focusing on fractions. We have been representing them in different ways, counting in fractions and placing fractions on number lines. On Purple Mash, in your 2Dos, complete the tasks named Finding Matching Expressions and Fraction Bar.

 

English-

 

In English, we have been reading the story of The Lost Happy Endings by Carol Ann Duffy. We have explored the book in many different ways by drawing, writing poems and predicting what will happen next in the story. Using the Descriptive writing task on Purple Mash, in your 2Dos, write a description of the forest where Jub lives and works. I want you to use adjectives, similes, personification and the five senses. Remember to take your time and read through and edit you work as you are writing your description.
